Worldwide Clinical Trials Taps Gerardo Pascuali as Clinical Operations Executive Director in Latin America

Worldwide invests in delivery and growth in Latin America with new leader to aid in global expansion

Morrisville, NC, USA – Worldwide Clinical Trials, Inc., (Worldwide) an award-winning, full-service, midsize, global contract research organization (CRO), announced today the addition of Gerardo Pascuali as executive director for Latin America Clinical Operations. Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pascuali will lead all operations in Latin America to support Worldwide’s growing clinical research team in the region.

This new hire aids Worldwide’s continued efforts to expand its global footprint as sponsors’ clinical trial demands expand into new markets around the world. Small to midsize pharmaceutical and biotech companies are looking for ways to access the large patient population in the Latin American region while accessing investigative sites who have a pedigree of providing elegant proof of concept as well as potentially pivotal data across therapeutic areas. Although it has been characterized as a comparatively unexplored market for clinical trials, Latin America offers cost efficiencies and increased patient accessibility that is needed for delivering new treatments. Pascuali’s clinical research and regional expertise will maximize operations through the region’s unique strengths and capabilities, such as minimal weather condition impact on patient participation, a diverse patient population as well as predictable regulatory pathways that facilitate project planning.

“The addition of Gerardo to our Latin American team signifies sponsors’ needs to navigate global markets that offer robust patient populations, unique trial sites and increased investigator networks,” said Peter Benton, president and chief operating officer of Worldwide Clinical Trials. “We believe his diverse background and reputational ties to the community will further build our uncommon team of life science experts in Latin America – enhancing our global reach and local expertise.”

Before joining Worldwide, Pascuali spent nearly two decades at IQVIA serving in various roles and functions, including the regional head in Latin America. Additionally, he received two bachelor’s degrees from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in biochemistry and toxicology and earned his Master of Business Administration from the Universidad del CEMA.

“I am thrilled to lead Worldwide’s expanding team in the Latin American market. The collaborative team atmosphere at Worldwide is very exciting, especially with its emphasis on connection to senior leadership,” says Pascuali. “Worldwide truly presents a great opportunity for both personal growth and industry impact as we expand into this new market. I’m looking forward to joining this unique global team.”

Worldwide is committed to expanding its global offerings in order to provide clients with access to local expertise in new, evolving regions. For example, the CRO recently announced the hiring of Dr. Hiromi Wakita as vice president of clinical operations in Japan to accelerate and improve research and development activities in the booming life sciences market.
