Marina Serdarevic is Executive Director, Global Medical Lead, Medical Affairs at Worldwide Clinical Trials. In this role she provides oversight of medical affairs programs, leads an EMEA-based team of medical monitors, and serves as the Regulatory Intelligence Committee representative and regulatory advisor for Medical Affairs, responsible for implementing new regulations across the department. She also provides input on clinical development plans, protocol design, CSRs and risk assessments.

A board-certified physician in internal medicine with finished training in respiratory medicine, Marina began her clinical career at the Clinic for Lung Diseases, University Hospital Center Zagreb, where she spent 10 years working in a respiratory clinic. Her clinical practice centered on treating lung and internal medicine diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, cystic fibrosis, and lung cancer. During this time, she also served as an investigator in COPD, asthma, and lung cancer trials, as well as lung cancer gene therapy trials, and supported the Pfizer Xalkori (crizotinib) compassionate use program and immunotherapy national program.
Following her clinical career, Marina transitioned into the industry side of development. As Medical Advisor and Associate Medical Director at IQVIA, she served as global medical advisor in the Allergy, Respiratory Disease, Infection and Vaccine department, acting as the key contact with sponsors' CMOs and medical teams.
Her therapeutic experience spans more than 40 clinical trials across respiratory medicine, oncology, internal medicine, and rare diseases, with trial experience across Phases I-IV. She has worked as both a global medical advisor and lead overseeing large programs and as an investigator during clinical practice, giving her a deep understanding of both the clinical and operational sides of drug development.
Marina earned her medical degree from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb. She is the author of numerous published articles in scientific journals and has presented her work at leading international respiratory congresses. She has completed a wide range of courses and trainings in respiratory medicine around the world. Her particular field of interest is gene medicine, and in 2026 she completed the Advances and Applications in Gene Therapy course at Harvard Medical School. She is fluent in English, Croatian, and Serbian, speaks Slovenian at a business level, and has basic proficiency in French and German.
