Stephen Coates is Executive Director and Franchise Leader in Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementias at Worldwide Clinical Trials. Over the course of two decades, he built a portfolio of experience and expertise in study and project management in many therapeutic areas before choosing to focus on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. He nurtures engagement within the CNS team at Worldwide to ensure operational excellence across dementia programs.

Stephen leads the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementias franchise, within the CNS group at Worldwide. He began his journey in the industry in 1998. Following a BSc (Hons) in pharmacology from the University of Hertfordshire and an MSc in clinical pharmacology from the University of Aberdeen, Stephen progressed through the ranks from Clinical Research Associate up through study/project management, building a strong portfolio of therapeutic experience before focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Having worked in the pharmaceutical industry for Roche, GSK, Pfizer, and Takeda in addition to time at Kendle and Covance in the CRO sector, Stephen joined Worldwide in 2015. Stephen’s position as Executive Director, Project Management, within the CNS group allows him to share his operational expertise across dementia programs and offers full support to the internal project team and Worldwide’s customers.
