Margo K. Holland
Global Head of Quality
As the Executive Vice President, Global Head of Quality, Margo Holland is responsible for championing a culture of quality across Worldwide. She oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of a flexible, proactive, risk based Quality Management System (QMS) that serves to systematically plan and achieve quality objectives. Additionally, Margo sets the strategic vision for regulatory compliance and efficiencies by ensuring the proactive identification of important risks, promoting data driven quality deliverables, and facilitating process improvements. Her focus on process includes the establishment of streamlined procedural documents, defined quality metrics and a clear escalation pathway for management of critical quality issues.
Holland’s career has encompassed a variety of leadership roles within clinical research including experience in independent consultation services, contract research organizations (CROs) and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to joining Worldwide, Holland served as the Quality Assurance head of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Pharmacoepidemiology Practices (GPP) and head of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) for Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc., where she was key to the strategy development and deployment of the company’s GxP Quality Management System. This ranged from strategic enhancement to strategic development, implementation and oversight of all quality activities within GCP, GPP and GLP.
Margo earned a Master of Science degree in Health Sciences, with a focus on Clinical Research Administration from George Washington University (Washington D.C.). Prior to transitioning to her career in clinical research, Margo served as a critical care nurse, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Alberta (Edmonton, AB, Canada).
