Margo K. Holland, Global Head of Quality at Worldwide Clinical Trials, is responsible for championing a culture of quality across the organization. Her career has encompassed diverse leadership roles in the clinical research space, supporting contract research organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and independent consultancies. At Worldwide, she sets the strategic vision for regulatory compliance and efficiencies by establishing data-driven quality deliverables, proactively identifying risks, and facilitating process improvements.
ABOUT MARGO K. HOLLAND
Margo K. Holland oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of a flexible, proactive, risk-based Quality Management System (QMS) that serves to systematically plan and achieve quality objectives. Additionally, Margo sets the strategic vision for regulatory compliance and efficiencies by ensuring the proactive identification of important risks, promoting data-driven quality deliverables, and facilitating process improvements. Her focus on process includes the establishment of streamlined procedural documents, defined quality metrics, and a clear escalation pathway for management of critical quality issues.
Prior to joining Worldwide, Margo served as the Quality Assurance head of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Pharmacoepidemiology Practices (GPP), and head of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) for Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc., where she was key to the strategy development and deployment of the company’s GxP Quality Management System. This ranged from strategic enhancement to strategic development, implementation, and oversight of all quality activities within GCP, GPP, and GLP.
Margo earned a Master of Science degree in health sciences, with a focus on clinical research administration from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Prior to transitioning to her career in clinical research, Margo served as a critical care nurse, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada.
